About Christ School Bundibugyo

So, what exactly am I doing here in Uganda?

I’d love to tell you!

In the Ugandan parish of Nyahuka, which is nestled in the district of Bundibugyo, lies a secondary boarding school for local students. Christ School Bundibugyo was started by Serge (then known as World Harvest Mission) almost two decades ago; and the institution’s reputation for academics and thirst for the Gospel has continued to grow ever since.

The school, while relying heavily on donations to subsidize tuition cost, has minimal communications processes in place to keep donors in the loop and up-to-date. Having graduated from Belmont University with a degree in public relations, this was something I realized immediately when I visited Bundibugyo during the summer of 2014 as a World Harvest Mission intern. I’ve since been employed by Serge to return for 18 months and focus on establishing sustainable communication methods to ensure that the CSB donor base is maintained and expanded. From there, the prayer is for Christ School to grow and reach even more students in Uganda who desire education.

The beautiful thing about Serge is its undeniable care for every person they equip and deploy around the world. While my ministry job is communication for Christ School, I’ll also be diving deeper into prayer and discipleship as I intentionally explore potential future callings to serve the Kingdom overseas for any long-term period of time. I’ll also be relearning the truth of the Gospel as it applies to my own brokenness in entirely new, cross-cultural settings. I have no doubt my season here will be one of the most impactful of my entire life.
